State of the World…

Activists were at the frontlines and in the headlines this week!

The United States secretary of state dumped Trump’s anti-LGBTQ foreign-policy blueprint, voguing balls in China allowed LGBT people to shine, and 20,000 same-sex couples have been married since marriage equality was legalized in the Netherlands.

GSAs Save Lives

However, numerous attacks on activists broke our hearts this week. Turkey detained 42 people who supported the rainbow flag protesters, a gay rights campaigner in Uzbekistan was hospitalized after an attack, activists in Poland continue to fight against LGBTIQ-free zones, a male flight attendant who was let go for a viral kiss with a male pilot in an elevator is now suing China Southern Airlines for discrimination, and conservatives in the United States continue to attack trans girls’ health care and involvement in sports.

We are in the fight for our lives. Every day our profound beauty transcends these attacks to ensure we walk down the street with dignity. Thankfully, we are part of a global community of changemakers who aim to create a better life for future LGBTI+ people. We hope you stay healthy, strong, and join us in that journey.
