The United States’ secretary of state confirmed the use of rainbow flags on the main flagpole at embassies and consulates, Trinity Hufana was crowned Queen of the Pacific in Guam, and there is a high chance that the Czech Republic Chamber of Deputies will vote on marriage equality this week.
Unfortunately, there is a large exodus of gay people as Poland amps up homophobia. This hatred is also present in the United States in the face of continued attacks on trans youth. The Alabama governor signed a trans athlete ban into law, Arkansas expanded its trans athlete ban, and Tennessee lawmakers okayed lawsuits against schools that let trans people use bathrooms and locker rooms in accordance with their gender identity.
These codified forms of oppression ring out that support, education, and advocacy are needed to fight against an infrastructure of intolerance! We hope you stay healthy and safe in this week ahead.
