State of the World…

This week, we continued our grueling fight for freedom!

The United States welcomed a new president, Joe Biden, who spent his first week passing progressive policies, including strengthening anti-discrimination protections, allowing trans individuals to serve in the military, selecting trans doctor Rachel Levine as the assistant health secretary, and the White House website allowingusers to specify pronouns for the first time.

To boot, the European Court of Human Rights ruled against Romania in a trans recognition case and Taiwan moved to allow international same-sex marriages

However, this year only continued the struggle for countless LGBTI+ individuals as a digital nomad was deported in Bali, HIV activists were detained in Venezuela, a marriage equality super-ban passed the first vote in Honduras' Congress, and the Hungarian Consumer Protection Authority slammed a book with LGBTQI characters.

The only way to survive this siege on our lives is to strongly band together. We hope you continue to stay healthy, happy, and vigilant in the week as we fight for freedom!
