While Pride month is over, we have so many amazing developments to celebrate!
First, the European Commission will take action against Hungary over new LGBT restrictions, LGBT soldiers and veterans organized in Ukraine, Norway will ban conversion therapy, and a Hong Kong gay couple won a High Court battle as the judge ruled "oppressively unfair" subsidised housing policy discriminatory.
In addition to all this great news, Jessica Stern was appointed as the United States Special Envoy to Advance the Human Rights of LGBTQI+ Persons, Malawi held its first gay pride parade, an international court ruled in favor of trans rights in Honduras, and France legalized medically assisted reproduction for lesbians and single women.
With all of this great news, we also face the grim reality that hate still continues as police attacked the İstanbul Pride march, Malaysia sought stricter sharia laws for "promoting LGBT lifestyle", and conservative senators blocked a Canadian conversion therapy ban.
The victories are possible thanks to the tireless activism happening around the world. Thank you to all the great community leaders who hosted Pride events in your community and we hope you can rest and recharge as the fight continues!
