We’re continuing the celebration this week as a new global survey found that nearly 1 in 5 young adults say they're not straight, Sinaloa and Baja California in Mexico passed marriage equality, and two trans women won proportional representation seats in Mexico’s Congress.
Unfortunately, even in Pride we faced setbacks as a Chinese lesbian couple sued after being denied a couples’ discount at a safari park, Hungary aimed to ban content that encouraged gender change or homosexuality, there is pushback in Hong Kong on hosting the 2022 Gay Games, and Lithuania’s second-largest city banned the Pride parade.
In the face of all of this discrimination, we at the Global Center really hope you remember how amazing it is to be you - being strong and defiant - and continuing living every day with Pride.
Global Queer News is an initiative of The Global Center’s Media Unit. Each week, we gather the top queer stories from around the world and synthesize them for your knowledge and action.
