Happy Pride month! This week gave us numerous reasons to celebrate.
The Chilean government will apply the utmost urgency to the marriage equality bill, more than 100 LGBTQ candidates are running for Mexico's Congress in Sunday's election, the Cook Islands moved to decriminalize gay sex and perhaps recognize same-sex couples, and Nashville's top prosecutor won't enforce Tennessee's new anti-trans bathroom law.
However, the fight continues as Namibia's high court delayed cases on recognition of foreign same-sex marriages until next year, the Lithuanian parliament voted 65-63 against taking up same-sex civil union bill, and Florida banned trans women and girls from participating in school sports.
We will continue to fight as we honor how Pride began as a riot - a call for recognition, rights, and resilience.
