So much continues to happen every week in our fight for freedom!
This week the European Parliament has demanded legal action be taken to combat Hungary's anti-LGBTQ law, Israel's Supreme Court cleared the way for same-sex couples to access surrogacy, the Dominican Republic LGBTI community advocated Congress for inclusion in its revised penal code, and the Delhi High Court has sought a response from India’s national government to allow foreign-origin spouses to be legally recognized in same-sex marriage cases.
Unfortunately, we also saw violence and crackdown. There were massive protests in Spain after a gay man was beaten to death, thousands of people protested in Georgia over the violence that canceled Pride, and LGBTQ social media groups at major Chinese universities were shuttered in an overnight crackdown.
This violence and discrimination must end! We must continue to advocate against state-sponsored actions that go directly against our fundamental human rights. We hope you stay safe and healthy in the week ahead!
