State of the World…

This week was defined by defiance as LGBTI+ people proudly stood for love and rights!

Switzerland announced that it will allow same-sex weddings from July 2022 onward, an LGBT protester who went viral in Turkey for standing up to the police released a gay anthem, a Formula One racing star wore an LGBTQ Pride helmet at the Qatar Grand Prix, and Antarctica celebrated its biggest Polar Pride ever.

In other news, the Constitutional Court of Thailand upheld the ban on marriage equality, the French dictionary sparked debates with the non-binary "iel" pronoun, and a Russian LGBTQ rights group vowed to soldier on despite pressure.

In the face of adversity, LGBTI+ people continue to stand up for our right to exist fully and authentically with the enshrined human rights necessary for our safety and flourishing.
